A Complete Admissions Application Includes

  • Application Form - Applications can be mailed to AMDA or submitted on-line.
  • Essays - Essays can be mailed to AMDA with the application or submitted with the on-line application.
  • $50 Application Fee - Payment can be submitted by providing credit card information on the application or by sending a check or money order to AMDA.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation - Recommendations must be mailed to AMDA; they cannot be submitted on-line. The person writing the recommendation can return it to the student for mailing or send it directly to AMDA.
  • High School Transcript - All applicants must submit an official high school transcript. Students in their final year of high school should submit their transcript to date.
  • College Transcript - Applicants who have gone to college must submit a college transcript for all colleges attended. Please note that a high school transcript is also required.

How to Submit Your Application On-line

For your convenience, we invite you to submit your application on-line. Please remember that the signature page cannot be submitted on-line; it must be printed off and mailed to AMDA. AMDA's mailing address is:

  • We recommend that you download and print a copy of the application prior to submitting it to AMDA on-line. This will allow you to organize the necessary information, particularly the required essays. Please note that you will need the signature page and recommendation forms that must be mailed to AMDA. Your file will not be reviewed until the signature page is received by AMDA. Click here to download and print a copy of the Application for Admission.
  • The $50 Application Fee can be paid by entering your credit card information on the application or by mailing a check or money order to AMDA with your signature page.
  • Ask two people to complete the Recommendation Forms. Recommendations cannot be submitted on-line. The person writing the recommendation can return it to the student for mailing or send it directly to AMDA.
  • Request that your high school mail an official copy of your transcript to AMDA. Students in their final year of high school should submit their transcript to date. A final, official copy will be required prior to enrolling at AMDA. Applicants who have gone to college must also submit a college transcript for all colleges attended.
  • If you have not previously scheduled an audition, call the Admissions Office at (800) 367-7908 or (212) 787-5300 to schedule the audition you plan to attend, or submit your request here.
  • Click on "Click here to complete the on-line application" below and complete the application form. Once you have completed the form and checked it for accuracy, click on "Submit Application" to send it to AMDA electronically.
