This five-story facility houses classrooms, laboratory theatres, studios, private voice rooms and a general education classroom. The building also features a student lounge, the film production office and the scene shop, as well as storage space for costumes, ![]() Performance TheatresAMDA's Los Angeles campus features four main theatres for learning, skill development and performance. Our black box theatre and two laboratory theatres each seat 99 audience members and feature full theatrical lighting and sound packages, as well as climate control. You'll also find an outdoor amphitheater that hosts everything from theatrical performances to dances. We showcase select class projects on this stage, which is also used as a rehearsal space. ![]() rehearsal spaceAMDA provides plenty of places to train outside of the classroom, including a variety of studios and private voice rooms. These spaces also include a range of stereo and audiovisual equipment, pianos, ballet barres and sprung floors in the dance studios, and cabaret tables, blocks and other performance rehearsal setup equipment. All rehearsal studios are available to students outside of scheduled course times. ![]() Film, TV and Editing FacilitiesAMDA provides the latest technological resources devoted to filmmaking and TV show creation, including full shooting setups with lighting instruments, cameras and playback and editing equipment. With these and other professional equipment, you get the opportunity to feel what it's like to perform on camera and see firsthand how these productions come to life. ![]() Performing Arts LibraryIn AMDA's performing arts library, you'll find an expansive collection of scripts, scores and DVDs. The library also offers several listening and viewing stations, computers, Internet access and study space. In addition, the Los Angeles campus is located near the city's extensive public library facilities and Hollywood's famous performing arts bookstores, which offer a wide range of entertainment reference materials. ![]() Campus CaféThe AMDA Café is the social hub for students on the Los Angeles campus, and it's known for its affordable, healthy and organic cuisine, which is offered seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also find a variety of ethnic specialty foods. Whether you're ducking in for a quick break in between classes or settling down for a long study session, you can grab anything from comfort food to a full meal. The Café also features a performance space that serves as the venue for many events, including the monthly Café Series, an open mic–style show where you can perform in front of your peers. ![]() Campus PiazzaThe campus piazza is a student quad located in a courtyard outside the Campus Café, near the mainstage black box theatre. Here you can enjoy the sunny Southern California weather while you eat your lunch, study, meet up with friends or just enjoy the free wi-fi access. The piazza is also the venue for open houses and other special AMDA events. student housingAMDA Los Angeles offers a variety of housing options for students who want to live on campus. The Franklin Apartments, the Bungalows, the Yucca Street Apartments, the Allview Apartments, The Vine Street Apartments and the Ivar House comprise the student housing facilities on our campus. All units come furnished with 24-hour security.
Franklin BuildingThe loft-style spaces in our five-story neoclassical building feature exposed brick, hardwood floors and oversized French windows with impressive Hollywood views. Full contemporary kitchens, newly renovated restrooms and closets come standard with each unit. You’ll have use of a fitness center, computer lab, study room, Zen garden, private gated parking lot and 24-hour laundry room.
BungalowsSituated around a landscaped courtyard, our authentic Craftsman bungalows are bright, spacious and truly Californian. Each furnished bungalow features oak hardwood floors, crown molding, huge windows and a faux fireplace. Bungalows sleep four students and include a separate dining area and efficiency kitchen. Yucca Street ApartmentsTwo-bedroom furnished flats sleep six and include oak hardwood floors, large bay windows and plenty of extra space. Surrounded by palm trees and featuring an enclosed courtyard, these classic Los Angeles apartments come with separate living and dining rooms, efficiency kitchens and on-site laundry. Ivar Residence HallThis residence hall is situated in a renovated Hollywood recording studio. Large furnished rooms surround an expansive common space designed for rehearsing, studying or just hanging out. You’ll share an oversized kitchen with full amenities. Allview ApartmentsThis residence next to the AMDA campus provides contemporary student living in the heart of Hollywood. Student rooms are furnished and include a full-sized refrigerator. Additionally, the residence includes a spacious garden courtyard, laundry facilities and a student lounge. Vine Street ApartmentsSituated adjacent to the main campus building, these apartments include hardwood floors, large windows and efficiency kitchens. Vine Street residents also enjoy a courtyard patio, a student activity room and laundry facilities. |
