Christopher Jackson

Starring on Broadway in the leading role of Simba in The Lion King.
A 1995 graduate of AMDA, he performed in the national tour of The Lion King, and in the Off- Broadway productions of Time and the Wind and Bobo's. He says, "The faculty at AMDA gave me the focus, the knowledge, and the inspiration to pursue my career. If you invest in the work, you are prepared for the professional arena when you graduate. I have worked ever since I graduated and have been grateful for the extraordinary support and resources I had at AMDA during the transition from being a student to becoming a professional."

Tyne Daly

AMDA salutes graduate Tyne Daly who currentlyo stars in the CBS award-winning series "Judging Amy" and was recently in the CBS movie The Wedding Dress in which she starred with her daughter, Kathryne Dora Brown, who is also an AMDA graduate. She won the Tony Award for her portrayal of Mama Rose in the Broadway revival of Gypsy. She is an unprecedented four-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Actress in a Dramatic Series on television for her long-running show, "Cagney & Lacey." She has appeared on more than 200 television shows and movies-for- television and received another Emmy Award nomination for Intimate Strangers. Daly has been on stage in such productions as Ashes, Three Sisters, Moby Dick Rehearsed, The Birthday Party, Old Times, and Come Back Little Sheba, for which she won the prestigious Drama-League Award for Outstanding Actress.

Devanand Janki

Numerous Broadway credits include Side Show, Thuy in Miss Siagon, and Mr. Mistoffelees in Cats. Recent credits include Associate Director and Choreographer for Dreamgirls at Lincoln Center, Babes in Toyland at Lincoln Center, and Scarlet Pimpernel at Gateway Playhouse. Recently choreographed Ain't Nothing Like a Dame on Broadway. Devanand came to AMDA directly from high school in Canada. He says of the rigorous curriculum, "You're constantly asked to deliver. You have to participate. It's hard but can learn a lot that way. Everything is very practical: it's a real all around strengthening program."

Gretchen Mol

Currently stars Off-Broadway as Jenny in The Shape of Things, which came to New York from production at London's West End where she also starred. Her film credits include Just Looking, Cradle Will Rock, Rounders, and Too Tired to Die. She recently starred as Madge in the CBS movie Picnic and has been on television in "Spin City" (ABC), "Dead Man's Walk" (ABC) and "Calm at Sunset, Calm at Dawn" (CBS).

Paul Sorvino

Paul Sorvino, distinguished alumni, is recognized worldwide as a premiere actor. His illustrious career includes major accomplishments on stage, screen and television. He played Paul Cicero in GoodFellas, and has starred in dozens of other films including Bulworth, Nixon, Dick Tracy, Reds, A Fine Mess, See Spot Run, and Perfume. His television credits include principal roles in "That's Life" (CBS), "Law and Order" (NBC), "The Oldest Rookie" (CBS), and "It Couldn't Happen to a Nicer Guy" (ABC). He has also starred in numerous television movies including Cheaters (HBO) and Parallel Lives (Showtime). His Broadway credits include That Championship Season and An American Millionaire.
