AMDA Los Angeles
The history and mystique of Hollywood is legendary. Whether strolling the world-famous Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard or visiting one of the celebrated movie studios, there is a profound sense of history. Today Los Angeles is regarded internationally as the entertainment capital of the world. Hundreds of feature films, television, and theatre productions are created here every year. Los Angeles is known as a "one industry town" in which entertainment is central.

“There is nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing the Hollywood sign at the top of the hill. It’s an awesome reminder of the amazing opportunities that are literally right down the street. There is never a question as to why Los Angeles is so wonderful for a performer. It’s so exciting to walk around the city and know that theatre, television and film are all within your reach.”

Andrew Allen (Green, OH) graduated December 2008

The AMDA Los Angeles campus is a two-acre site in the heart of Hollywood and the center of the Hollywood Entertainment District. AMDA is across the street from the famed Capitol Records building and a block north of the historic intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Libraries, shops, theatres, markets and restaurants are all within walking distance of the campus.  We are also just two blocks away from the wonderful Hollywood Farmer’s Market where students can go to on Sundays to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and other local food items. The campus provides amenities such as a full service café, a library, complete with a listening lab and a reading room, student lounges, an outdoor piazza and free wireless Internet.

As public transportation is easily accessible, it is not necessary for students to bring a car. However, parking on campus is available for a fee on a very limited basis. Students planning on bringing a car to school should contact the Office of Admissions to discuss availability.

We are proud of our location in Hollywood as it is a vibrant and artistic community which offers rich opportunities for the aspiring performer.

Tours of the Los Angeles Campus are given by appointment.  Please call the LA campus to schedule a campus tour:

Note About Attendance and Travel

Note to all students: Make no travel plans causing you to miss classes before or after holidays. The last week of classes in all semesters is Demonstration Week. Final Demonstrations are held the last day of class (the last day of the Demo Week). It is an honor to be chosen to perform at Final Demonstrations. If you are chosen to perform with your classmates, your absence may deprive them of the opportunity to exhibit their work - particularly if you are involved in a duet or a small group. Do not make plans to leave before 5:00pm on the last day of the semester. It is important to note that when you reach your fourth semester at AMDA, your calendar may change. Fourth semester students generally start one week before all other students.
