Los Angeles Orientation

Down Arrow

Hello Los Angeles Students,

We are so excited that you will soon begin your professional training at AMDA. The Orientation page is designed to be your resource to ensure you have all the information and materials you will need to begin this term. Please read each section carefully, as you will find important details regarding registration and preparation for your classes. Welcome to the AMDA Family.

Joseph Siriano
Director of Admissions

Virtual Pre-Orientation will take place Wednesday, June 12th through Friday, June 14th while In-Person Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, June 20th through Sunday, June 23rd.

Our Orientation Committee has created a thoughtful set of sessions and events to help your transition to college, introduce you to campus services and create long-lasting connections within the AMDA community. Students should expect to participate each day from 8:30 AM through 6:30 PM Pacific during the days of Orientation though some days it may differ a bit. Our Student Orientation Committee has built-in times for meal breaks and rest breaks.

Attendance during Orientation is required in order to start classes on Monday, June 24th. Students must attend all live sessions and complete Orientation assignments within a platform called Canvas. Canvas is an online education platform that will be used for your AMDA classes as well as Orientation.

If you believe you will have scheduling conflicts, or have any questions, please email LAOrientation@amda.edu. Please allow our team at least 1-3 business days to respond to you.

Should you have any questions regarding the Orientation process, please feel free to reach out to your Admissions Advisor or the Orientation Committee (LAOrientation@amda.edu).

Our required hybrid orientation will be a mix of pre-recorded sessions, live Zoom presentations, departmental meetings and in-person activities. Orientation schedules will be available to students on May 31, 2024. It is recommended that each student spends a small portion of each day logging in to the online Canvas platform and email to be aware of important updates, assignments, and other information. Orientation also includes optional activities to introduce students to a wide variety of resources to help prepare them for the rigors of classwork.

Please keep an eye out for emails from Housing & Residential Life staff detailing when these applications are available.
