Based out of AMDA’s Hollywood campus, students gain firsthand exposure to the entertainment industry. From studio production and editing suites, to networking and collaboration opportunities; our programs emphasize technical skill and real-world readiness. Graduates go on to contribute in a variety of ways to film, television, and emerging digital platforms.

What You'll Learn as a Film & TV Arts BFA Student

At AMDA, we want to help you bring your unique vision to life. And you own the rights.

Our Filmmaking program is amongst the most unique degrees offered at AMDA, combining all areas of production to develop multi-skilled visual storytellers. You’ll build confidence in every stage of the creative process—concept development, writing, directing, and post-production—guided by faculty who actively work in film and television.

You’ll also learn to collaborate across disciplines and understand how creative decisions affect the full production pipeline. By graduation, you’ll not only have refined your artistic voice but also built a professional portfolio that showcases your versatility as a filmmaker ready to thrive in today’s evolving media landscape.

"In the Camera Division, we define success by the strength of our students' skills foundation, their increasing boldness in their artistic vision, and risks they take. As their artistic ‘tool belt’ solidifies, their ability to conceive and pursue their creative visions increases. By the time they graduate, their confidence has grown tremendously, and they are more than prepared to take the next steps in their artistic and professional journey." - Jason Chaet, Camera Division Chair
