Cynthia Clarke (She/Her)

AMDA Faculty since: 2012

Dr. Cynthia Clarke is passionate about promoting performance and educational excellence. In her time at AMDA Dr. Clarke has served in various roles, such as a member of AMDA's Academic Council and the Learning and Faculty committees, faculty sponsor for the AMDA Fitness Club and Fitness Coordinator. As a professor for over 10 years at AMDA she has taught Applied Performance Psychology, Introduction to Performance Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Kinesiology, Health & Wellness and several fitness conditioning classes.

Dr. Clarke is a certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) where she is co-chair in the Teaching and Sport Psychology Special Interest Group. She also serves as a Mental Performance Expert for Voices in Sport (VIS). Her primary focus of research is in the effects of applied psychological strategies and mental skills on various domains and levels of performance. Dr. Clarke has been able to contribute to research in the field of performance psychology through cognitive skills training effects on high-stakes professional, professional athletes and youth.
