Congratulations to Alumni Sarah Stiles and Jeremy Pope

Dear AMDA Community,

Congratulations and kudos to AMDA Alumni Sarah Stiles and Jeremy Pope, who are both nominated for Tony Awards!

Sarah Stiles is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for her role of Sandy Lester in Tootsie – this is her second Tony nomination, having been nominated in 2015 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Hand To God.

Jeremy Pope is nominated in two categories for two separate performances:

  • Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for his role of Pharus Jonathan Young in Choir Boy, which was his Broadway debut
  • Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his role of Eddie Kendricks in Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations

Jeremy is only the sixth actor in Tony history to be nominated in two categories simultaneously.
