Thank You to Emmy-winning Actor and Alumnus Mauricio Martinez for Speaking at AMDA New York's Fall Graduation Ceremony

AMDA alumnus Mauricio Martinez is the Fall 2019 New York graduation speaker. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2020.

AMDA alumnus Mauricio Martinez is a Mexican Emmy-winning actor and recording artist and “a true bilingual triple threat,” as quoted by People en Español. Mauricio last starred on Broadway as Emilio Estefan in the hit musical On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan. Mauricio can currently be seen in NBC Universo’s original series “El Vato” on Netflix, and onstage at Paper Mill Playhouse in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s highly-anticipated new musical memoir Unmasked.

Mauricio’s television credits include multiple telenovelas on Univision and Telemundo, such as “Señora Acero,” “Como dice el dicho” and “La Mujer del Vendaval.” Mauricio has also performed in prestigious TV specials, including a tribute to Gloria Estefan at the 40th Annual Kennedy Center Honors on CBS, as well as “The 2019 Gershwin Prize” on PBS, appearing alongside such estimable artists as Cindy Lauper, Rita Moreno, Andy García and Gloria Estefan.

Mauricio headlined the First National Tour of On Your Feet!, in which he reprised the role of Emilio Estefan and earned rave reviews for his portrayal of the Cuban hit maker. He is also touring with his concert “De Mexico to Broadway” (which sold out 54 Below in 2018 and again in 2019) in the US and Latin America.

Mauricio’s two Latin Pop albums are available on iTunes worldwide, and he is currently working on his third album with Broadway Records.
