NY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PLAN (SFP)

AMDA recognizes that being a student in higher education can be stressful - and costly - and being hungry may only add on to the stress. We have a solution to ease these concerns: NY's Supplemental Food Plan. While this declining balance plan isn’t meant to cover all your food costs, it’s a great option to ensure that you’re able to have a meal(s) and/or snack(s) on campus throughout your busy day of classes and rehearsals.

The Supplemental Food Plan is a required plan for all first year NY students and will be packaged together with tuition and housing in your Financial Aid Plan.

The Supplemental Food Plan costs, per academic year, are outlined below.

    • $2,520 – 1st Year On Campus SFP Plan ($1,260 per term)
    • $1,800 – 1st Year Off Campus SFP Plan ($900 per term)

If you divide the pre-loaded money on the card as evenly as you can, you will have approximately $12 per day to spend on food. The Supplemental Food Plan is a required plan for all first year students. For any questions regarding this plan, please contact the AMDA NY Financial Aid Department at financialaidny@amda.edu.

On Campus Cafes

AMDA Los Angeles has two on-site cafés, independently owned by Chef Steve Price since 2009. The goal of the cafe is to make the menu healthy, delicious, accessible, and with the right balance between gourmet and familiar.

  • AMDA Café
    Base of Tower Building
    Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 8:00pm
    Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm
    Closed Sunday

  • AMDA Market
    3rd Floor of Vine Building
    Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 6:30pm
    Closed Saturday and Sunday

These two locations are fully functioning locations, accepting cash, credit card and a reloadable Student Cafe Account card that can be reloaded online at any time. The AMDA Cafe and AMDA Market offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack grab and go options. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options are available. In addition, there are numerous coffee shops, restaurants, delis, specialty food shops and supermarkets located around campus.

CAMPUS MICROWAVES

Communal Microwaves are conveniently located throughout the campus, so you can heat up your meal-prepped food, left overs, or snacks. You can find these microwaves at the AMDA Café and the AMDA Market (Vine Classroom building). Additionally, all students are welcome to use the community kitchens in Allview and Gilbert Residence Halls during visiting hours.

VENDING MACHINES

We also have multiple vending machines throughout campus classroom buildings and residence halls.

LA FLEXIBLE FOOD PLAN (FFP)

AMDA recognizes that being a student in higher education can be stressful - and costly - and being hungry may only add on to the stress. We have a solution to ease these concerns: LA’s Flexible Food Plan!
Our Flexible Food Plan is just that – flexible! Your account will operate as a “declining debit” starting with your full semester’s balance at the beginning of the semester. Deductions are applied to your account only for the specific menu items you order – meals and food items are all priced individually, and there is no automatically-deducted fixed price for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You may choose when and what you want to order so you can utilize the plan at your own convenience for any meal or snack any day of the week. There are no requirements of which days or meals you must order through the plan. Menu options will be available for vegan, vegetarian, and traditional omnivore diets.

The Flexibile Food Plan is a required plan for all first year LA students and will be packaged together with tuition and housing in your Financial Aid Plan.

The Flexible Food Plan costs, per academic year, are outlined below.

    • $3,600 – 1st Year On Campus FFP Plan ($1,800 per term)
    • $1,800 – 1st Year Off Campus FFP Plan ($900 per term)

Although the Flexible Food Plan is currently only required for first year students, all students are encouraged to enroll in the plan. Continuing students may enroll in the plan by completing the below enrollment form. Once the form is completed and submitted, the charge will be added to your financial aid plan. For any questions regarding this plan, please contact the AMDA LA Financial Aid Department at financialaidla@amda.edu
