Our intensive four-year degree is designed for ambitious dancers who want to become capable, multi-disciplined performers. This rigorous course of physical study is grounded in classical technique and complemented by focused courses in a variety of styles.
 
At AMDA, we believe a dancer must dance. Our culture is built around Performance Immersion, and from day one, you will find an unrivaled number of dance performance opportunities in a variety of disciplines and receive the support of our extraordinary faculty, who will encourage you to conceptualize your own productions. You’ll also experience Critical Studies courses designed to be immediately relevant to the life and career of a working dancer.
 
Finally, you’ll learn how to navigate the professional dance industry and gain the solid entrepreneurial foundation necessary to thrive in the performing arts.

Dance Theatre Audition Requirements:
You will prepare a solo piece 60-90 seconds in length in the style of your choice. You will also be taught, learn and perform two contrasting combinations which may include (but are not limited to) any variety of styles such as: Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary or Broadway. You must bring all appropriate dance shoes and attire and provide a CD accompaniment for the solo piece.
