Our intensive four-year degree program is designed for performers who want a solid foundation in a variety of areas, while gaining the conditioning necessary for a general career in the performing arts.

At AMDA, we believe a performer must perform. Our culture is built around Performance Immersion, and from day one, you'll find unrivaled performance opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Over the course of your four years, you’ll enhance and refine your performance technique through an intensive curriculum that focuses on foundation work in acting, musical theatre, dance, musicianship, improvisation and stage combat. You'll also experience Critical Studies courses designed to give you a broad cultural foundation in the entertainment arts.   

The program culminates with a focus on career preparation, industry networking and audition techniques, helping you to navigate the ever-changing entertainment industry and begin your path to success.

Performing Arts Audition Requirements:
Depending on your preferred focus of study, you should perform either 1) two 2-minute contrasting monologues (contemporary or classical) or 2) one 2-minute monologue (contemporary or classical) and two minutes or 32 bars of a song from the musical theatre or classical repertoire. You are required to bring sheet music in your key to your audition. AMDA will provide a professional accompanist for you. Tapes may not be used as accompaniment. Your performance should not exceed four minutes in total. Monologues should be from published plays. Original materials should not be used. The use of props during your audition is not permitted.
