THANK YOU TO ALUMNUS CHRISTOPHER SIEBER FOR SPEAKING AT AMDA NY'S SPRING 2019 GRADUATION CEREMONY

May 14, 2019 - Announcements, Featured

AMDA alumnus and two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber has starred in more than a dozen Broadway productions including Chicago (Billy Flynn), Beauty and the Beast (Gaston), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon), Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince), Pippin (King Charlemagne), and Matilda the Musical (as the curmudgeonly headmistress Agatha Trunchbull). The Minnesota native began his impressive career at nine years old in his parents’ living room, where he starred in such powerful home productions as Christopher Sieber Comedy Cavalcade of 1976 and MOM! WATCH ME! A Personal Triumph.

Christopher received his first Tony Award nomination in 2005 for his role in the original Broadway cast of Monty Python’s Spamalot. His second Tony nod came four years later, for originating the role of the height-challenged monarch Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical (alongside Sutton Foster and Brian D’Arcy James). Off-Broadway, Christopher performed in City Center’s Encores! production of Big River. Recent regional credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (King Herod) at the St. Louis Muny and Annie (Daddy Warbucks) at both the Muny and Paper Mill Playhouse.

On television, Christopher’s prolific credits include starring alongside Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in ABC’s “Two of a Kind,” “Sex and the City,” “It’s All Relative,” “Ed,” “Elementary,” “The Good Wife,” “The Good Fight,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and numerous soap operas.

Christopher recently hosted the 5th annual Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival at Broadway’s Music Box Theatre, and was featured in the 33rd annual Easter Bonnet Competition, the fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre.

Christopher is currently starring on Broadway as Trent Oliver in The Prom, which has received seven Tony Award nominations.
