IMPORTANT Information & Date Changes for Returning to Campus in January 2022

If you are a Current 4th Semester Student:
    • Jan 3: You will return to campus & begin classes/rehearsals as originally scheduled
    • Jan 3: Everyone will take a COVID-19 test on campus
    • Students performing the week of Jan. 3 will not have live audiences at their shows, but will have performances filmed.
ALL Other Students: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Semester Students:
    • Jan 3 - Jan 15: All classes will be conducted via Zoom & Canvas from your residence
    • Course meetings & details will be posted in your Canvas courses closer to Jan. 3
    • Jan 15 - Jan 17: Residential students should plan to move back to campus
    • Jan 18: Return to in-person classes
    Additional Information to Remember:
    • Everyone will be required to have a COVID-19 test administered on campus upon return
    • We strongly encourage (and will soon require) everyone to receive their booster dose of the COVID vaccine over winter break to ensure your safety as we return
    • When you receive your booster, please upload your information HERE
    • All in-person campus activity will resume under the strictest safety protocols (mask, distancing, testing, audience limits/restrictions, etc.)
    • We will re-evaluate all safety protocols after Jan. 24

The adjusted plan detailed above is being put into place out of an abundance of caution given the increase in COVID cases in NYC. This phased return to campus is the most prudent plan to ensure that everyone on campus remains as safe as possible. This new plan provides for reduced capacity and gives us some extra time for this recent rise in cases to subside. While it is difficult to predict, we feel confident that this adjusted return to campus plan will enable us to finish the semester safely and in person, all while keeping 4th Semester productions/filming on schedule and providing the safest and best possible academic experience for all students.

Let us continue to stand strong together as a community of creative artists working on our craft while protecting the health and safety of our community.

If you have ANY questions AT ALL, please email NYERT@amda.edu.
