Summer Conservatory (On Campus) - Dance Theatre

Program Description +

The AMDA High School Summer Conservatory (On Campus) Dance Theatre Program offers total immersion in dance technique and performance by working with dancers and choreographers of the Broadway stage, film and television, and contemporary concert dance. The program also provides the chance to take the student’s dance dynamics and expression to a whole new level. This session includes a dance-for-camera music-video experience. In addition to this, the session ends with an opportunity to audition for AMDA College and alternative AMDA High School Conservatory Programs as well as a final presentation for family and friends.

    • Create compelling performance arcs demonstrating physical, vocal, and emotional specificity.
    • Demonstrate improved proficiency in ballet, jazz, modern, and a variety of movement styles and disciplines.
    • Memorize and reproduce extended sequences of theatrical movement to have the ability to perform in a theatre and television/film space.
    • Develop and apply safe physical practices and holistic self-care.
    • Demonstrate ability to positively and effectively apply adjustments as directed.
    • Apply standard entertainment industry business practices regarding preparation, communication, and professionalism.
    • Demonstrate the ability to audition with the appropriate professionalism and requirements expected in a college performing arts environment.
    • Engage in a collaborative production process.
