We are so proud of the way our community has continued our artistic journey during an incredibly unprecedented time. We are having a truly inspiring Semester and the work that is being done in our virtual classrooms is nothing less than incredible.
We wanted to share the information we have regarding the Spring 2021 Semester. As we are all aware, institutions of higher education, along with nearly all other businesses in Los Angeles and California, remain in the most restrictive phases of reopening. Colleges and Universities in Los Angeles and throughout California are not allowed to reopen. As frustrating as this situation is for all of us, we are also aware that our government officials and health experts are making the best decisions they can to protect the health and safety of all of our community members.
With this in mind, we are making plans to begin our Spring 2021 semester online in the hopes that progress will be made in efforts to reduce the COVID numbers in California and specifically in Los Angeles. As ever, we remain hopeful that we will be able to start to bring students back to campus at some point during the Spring Semester.
The staff at AMDA continue to work closely with our local public health agencies to ensure our campus reopening plans are in alignment with the state and county guidelines for when we are approved to welcome students back to campus.
As a reminder, the dates of our Spring 2021 Semester are:
- March 8 – June 18, 2021
As AMDA continues to monitor the public health situation in Los Angeles County and California, we will continue to keep our community aware of our plans. We will begin to move students back onto campus in a phased-in manner as soon as we are given the approval by our government agencies to do so.
Students who have not submitted information regarding their intention for the Spring Semester (or if their intention has changed from a previously submitted form) should use the updated link that was sent by email to provide their intention information by Friday, January 22nd, 5pm PST. Students who have already submitted the form do not need to submit again.
AMDA will be hosting a Zoom Meeting for Students and Parents on Thursday, January 21 at 11:00 am PST / 2:00 pm EST so that we have an opportunity to come together and answer any questions you may have. Registration links were sent by email.

RETURN TO CAMPUS PLAYBOOK
AMDA has developed a plan for returning to each campus in a way that enables us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We invite all of our community members – students, parents, faculty, and staff – to read the AMDA Return to Campus Playbook for your campus. The AMDA Return to Campus Playbook covers all areas of health and safety including the use of masks, other personal protective gear, residential life, the daily self-health checks that will be required of all students, faculty, and staff, and many other important pieces of information that will be necessary for you to know prior to arriving on campus.
