Rachel
Whiting is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and educator. She trained with
Ballet West, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and the American Dance
Festival. She was director of dance at Oure Idraesthojoskole, taught and
choreographed extensively in Denmark and The Netherlands and danced for Skaanes
Dansteater in Sweden. In the United States, Rachel was artist in residence for
Denver School of the Arts and at Colorado's first International Baccalaureate
dance program. In New York, Rachel pursued her academic training at the
Juilliard School, danced as an apprentice and was on faculty for the Merce
Cunningham Dance Company. In San Francisco, she taught and performed at the
Oberlin Dance Collective Theater and school. She is lead teacher for the
Dancing Through Parkinson's program in Los Angeles. Rachel is inspired to teach
the Cunningham technique as it affords the dancer to feel and understand the
intrinsic fundamentals of dance.
