Candice Shaughnessy (She/Her)

Candice is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She now resides in New York City working as a dramatic soprano, voice teacher, and conductor. She recently performed La Badessa in Suor Angelica and Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte in concert with New York Lyric Opera Theatre. Formerly a mezzo-soprano, Candice also portrayed the Mother/Grandmother in Little Red Riding Hood with Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance with the Pittsburgh Savoyards in 2016. In 2015, Candice performed in the Miami Summer Music Festival portraying the role of Florence Pike in Albert Herring. Candice has performed on the concert stage in both Rome and Florence and was an inaugural participant in the Vancouver Summer Opera Studio program. Her opera repertoire also includes: Iolanthe (Leila), Le Nozze di Figaro (Marcellina), Dialogues des carmélites (Madame di Croissy), La Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia), Il Tabarro (Giorgetta), and Dido and Aeneas (Dido).
